These are great. They allow you to show off your cutting board while keeping it off the counter at the same time. I have them in cherry (shown) and birch. Finished with natural oil/wax.
These have become popular at the Farmers Market we attend and they are fun to make. This one is 6 X 3 X 1 1/4 and is made from solid cherry. The test tube is glass. It would look great anywhere in your house. Finished with natural oil and hardwax.
I love this design - basic cutting board using domestic hardwoods, but with some added whimsy from the solid wood plugs. It measures 11 X 13 X 1 with small rubber feet on the bottom. Finished with mineral oil and wax conditioner.
This is one of my favorite pieces. The only other one I've made was as a present for my daughter, but figured it was time to make another one. It measures 13 X 21 X 2 1/2 and it finished with a natural oil/hardwax sealer.
Its been a while since I made bottle openers, so I thought I'd make some out of some of my more attractive pieces of hardwood - specifically, spalted maple and mahogany. I use heavy-duty hardware so these will last.
We have two sets of these custom windchimes made with locally sourced bamboo and mahogany. Each set features unique woodburned images on the bottom wind catcher piece. The sound they make is different from metal chimes and so calming to the ear. Sealed with a natural oil/wax mixture that contains a UV inhibitor.
Made from black cherry and maple with mahogany handles, this piece features beautiful, simple MCM lines. It measures 13" by 21".
This piece is made from beautiful sapele mahogany and holds a large glass tube. It features a Celtic knot that is burned into the front. Suitable for cut flowers or propagation of small seedlings. Finished with a natural oil/wax finish.
This lazy susan measures 13" in diameter and is made from a beautiful piece of walnut for the field with maple and mahogany strips. A beautiful piece for your table!
Another wall art piece. This one mimics a city skyline reflected in the water. Includes a pyrographic accent of a crescent moon. Measures 11" by 10" by 1.25". Sealed with a natural oil/hard wax finish, it is ready to hang on your wall.
Cutting boards are useful, but a set of three boards is even better. Small, medium, and large boards each have their own place in the modern kitchen. These three are made from black walnut highlighted with strips of cherry sandwiched between maple. They measure 6 x 9 1/2 x 3/4, 8 x 11 1/2 x 3/4, and 10 1/2 x 13 x 1. The stand - made from matching cherry - is 7 deep by 9 1/2 wide by 6 tall and is covered by cork on the bottom.
As with many of my builds, these were done on a bit of a whim. I had seen some online and thought they'd be fun to try. As you can see, the square ones hold four glasses while the one that kind of looks like a surf board holds two. These would be easy to ship (at extra cost) so if you aren't local I can still get one to you. The price is per caddy. If you don't like either design, let me know and we can work on a design you'd like better.
This piece is designed to hold a tablet, phone, or even a simple sheet of paper for following recipes while cooking in the kitchen. It is made from walnut, mahogany, cherry, walnut, and white oak and measures 9" wide by 16" tall by 7 1/2" deep. We use ours all the time.
This valet (or catch-all) tray is made from poplar wood and measures 7"X11"X1". The Hindu symbol for Om is burned into the corner. It is finished with a hard wax oil that is food safe just in case you want to use it for snacks.
This side table is made from a beautiful flame box elder slab and measures 22" tall by 13-16" wide by 24" deep. It is inspired by the designs of legendary woodworker George Nakashima whose work combined a mid-century modern style with a rustic flair. It has adjustable feet on the bottom for leveling.
It can be shipped for an extra charge. I would disassemble it for shipping and it would be easy to reassemble for you when it arrives.
This side table is one of my favorite builds to date and would add beauty to any room in your house. The top is a "chaos" style common to cutting boards these days and is made from a variety of different hardwoods. The base is made from solid ribbon sapele (a cousin of mahogany) and features curved legs. It measures 11" wide by 22" deep by 24" tall.
This plant stand is made with a high density fiberboard pedestal (white) and pine strips (black). It stands 16" tall and is 16 1/2' square. Its sealed with multiple coats of varnish. The bottom has cork to protect of the surface you might put this on.
This is a plant stand made from sapele (a cousin of mahogany) and is sealed with water-resistant spar varnish. It measures 2 1/2" tall and will fit a 10 inch pot.
This is a pine bench that is a bit of mid-modern and a bit farmhouse. It should fit nicely in an entryway or a mudroom. It measures 27" to the top of the arms and 20" to the seat. It is 30" long and 14" deep and comes with adjustable feet for uneven floors. You can purchase it bare wood for $160 and finish it yourself. Alternatively, I can finish it for you for $200.
We've displayed these outside at our house for a while. They stand 13" tall and 6" wide with a 6" stake that goes into the ground. $5 off on a purchase of 3 or more.
A simple but sweet live edge cherry holder for two battery operated tea lights and a plastic test tube to hold small flowers or cuttings. This shows a cutting from Bleeding Heart from our garden. This is currently on consignment at Robinson Nature Center.
This trivet is made with solid cherry and measures 6" by 6" by 3/4". It is finished with multiple coats of polyurethane. Shipping is available for an extra charge.
This is one of the most popular boards I make. It is made with nicely figured walnut with stripes of mahogany and maple. The triangle cutout for the handle adds to the appearance of the board. It measures 10" by 25" by 1" and is finished with a food safe blend of mineral oil and beeswax. Shipping is available for an extra charge.
On most tables, the tops are designed so they sit directly onto the aprons or skirts. On this design, the top "floats" - supported by three wooden brackets that sit above the apron. Another feature of this table is that it's made with ambrosia maple. The top measures 11" by 26" and is 27" tall. To help protect it from daily wear and tear, it is finished with multiple coats of polyurethane. As with all of my tables, this one has adjustable "footies".
We add new stuff frequently so keep coming back for a look!
